Micronet History

===========================================================================
I founded Micronet on 1 September 2000 as an alternative to larger mail
networks. I wanted something small, friendly and easy to handle for
administrative purposes, unlike some of the overgrown networks at the time.
Micronet's full name is The Micronet Information Network (notice the "The"
in the name), but it was shortened to Micronet to facilitate easier
nodelists.

Micronet has a bit of a checkered history, but suffice to say that in
November 2007, I shut down both Micronet and my BBS. I'd had enough of
everything and was going through a rather stressful time. Then in
February 2008, I brought my BBS back online. I also brought Micronet
back online at the same time. Micronet's membership has slowly but
steadily grown since then.

In late 2010, we started our own InterBBS gaming league, League 618. We
encourage sysops to participate in the league!

Micronet has grown to include QWK and NNTP networking gates so nearly
any BBS can join the network. We are a friendly and open-minded group
and we look forward to having you in Micronet.

Thanks,
Sean Dennis
