STAGE 1.

-Basemesh modeled in Cinema 4D. Body,legs and wings are different parts that are just combined together.

STAGE 2. 

-Sculpting in Zbrush. Early stage of sculpting where seams of different parts are hidden and basic figure is there. 

STAGE 3.

-Ready sculpt from Zbrush. 

STAGE 4.

-Sculpt brought to Cinema 4D and camera added!  This is the stage without textures and lights. 

STAGE 5.

-Textures and lights added, this shows mesh in Cinema 4D before rendering. Textures are handpainted in Cinema's Bodypaint. I added the lantern there,but it was finally rendered separately. 

STAGE 6.

-Render from Cinema 4D. Rendertime about half an hour. 

STAGE 7. 

- Basic sketch about light and background, stock photos as reference.

Almost all these are painted over and not visible in the final picture!

STAGE 8. 

-Tail removed and new one painted. Lanterns added. More details added to dragon.

STAGE 9.

- Big wave painted,ships and background waves painted, references moved to trash. Water pouring down painted and colors corrected. More details to dragon (scales and light). Sky moved to position and painted slightly over. 

STAGE 10.

- Wings painted again,lanterns modeled and added to scene. Overall details to dragon. 

STAGE 11. 

- Background lanterns blended to sea, more dragons painted to sky. Color corrections to all image.
   Moonlight painted to be more visible. Waves and background blurred more.
