                      I thought I saw a pussycat

So here it is, Green's second-born, named Control. Released at
Bizarre '98. It's been a long, long time since we released Orion.
Since then, our occupations were divided between demoscening and
our social lives. Yes, we do have social lives. At least some of
us. This is our lousy excuse for waiting so long with making
another one. It'll have to do.

The creation of this demo cost us liters of sweat and blood,
hours of coding, designing, composing, drawing and listening to
Gongo's endless speeches. We came up with an award-winning script,
and ignored it completely as soon as we agreed on it.

Nevertheless we're quite proud to present this modest collection
of bytes to you. We hope you enjoy watching it, and will give in
to the uncontrollable urge to send us money.

               Post Bizarre'98 Depression Explanations

Unlike any other group, Green goes into hybernation right after
a release. Even after such an ass-kicking production as this one.

You might have noticed that the party version was quite buggy.
(No? Really?) But nevertheless it came in second at the Bizarre98.
Why still buffles most of us. Guess Bizarre'98 really lived up to
    it's name :)

Anyhow, this final version (we really are gonna let this code
rest!) took quite some time in the making. Why we release a final
6 months after it's initial/party release? Well, it WAS buggy, and
probably still IS in some portions, but it is a lot less infested.
It was immediately after the Bizarre that we set course to make
the final. Not 5 days later this effort stopped due to the topic.
Control then spent nearly 3 months being tossed from coder to
coder before a nearly finished, yet still buggy version, fel drop
dead somewhere in transit. It was after a month or so that Gongo
took the task on him to finish it once and for all. The final
result was not his merit alone. A lot of nasty bugs then flew in
the next weeks that followed. Why was this possible? Well, Green
was over it's Post Party Depression! That's why you should be
warned. We are active again! (although some antropologists suggest
that this might have something to do with the up and coming exams
that the Green Coders are facing.)

                         Legal disc-lamer...

You are allowed to spread this thing like bad news. Our humble
permission is needed to put this on a commercial product like a
CD-ROM. However, we're easily bribable, just send us a copy of the
    product.

We will not be held responsible for any kind of damage whatsoever
by the use of this product. Keep away from small children and Quad
    members :)!

Men lene een ei ... Requirements

      - enough braincells to capture the meaning of the flashing pixels
        on your screen

      - P100+ (MMX used if available)
      - 15MB+ (runs smooth with 27MB or over of free mem)
      - MIDAS supported Soundcard: SoundBlaster (2.0/Pro/16/Compatible)
        GUS, PAS, WSS, NoSound
      - (preferrably) 320 x 240 x "32b" capable videocard. Run the demo to see what
modes are available on your card. (note: when not running univbe,
        this list can be smaller!)

                      What's hot, and what's not!

This demo comes with a .pif file. This means that you can try to run
it in a DOSbox (and please...not under NT (or no VESA, no sound)).
If, however, you want to try to run it in a manual DOSbox, make sure
that enough memory is available (+27MB) and that the caption:
        "Program->Advanced->Suggest MS-DOS mode as necessary"
in the DOSBox' properties is unchecked! This will prevent the dosbox
from interrupting the demo and 'crashing' it. If you fail to do this,
you will get a message from Windows asking whether or not to restart
in DOS mode. Select no, then click the taskbar to continue. The THX
portion runs, the loading begins, but then the demo SEEMS to hang.
Press ESC there, and rerun the demo. The demo will then run correctly
in that instance of a dosbox. When, however, you close that box, these
actions will have to be repeated the next time you run the demo.

It was however our intention to make this DOS demo (yes, it IS a DOS
demo) as Windows friendly as possible. But we still always recommend
running it in plain DOS. There are ofcourse lot's of reasons why you
would want to run it in Windows (infamiliar with DOS, not enough free
    mem otherwise, ...).

Considering which Video Mode to pick

                                choose:
                          non faked over faked
                             16 over 15 bit
                             15 over 14 bit
non FakeX or FakeY modes over them
                            FakeY over FakeX
                            LFB over banked
                      anything over ModeX or ModeY

                           Green like frogs

                               Hi Mom!

      - Gongo -
Greets go of course to : Quad (all of them, especially to Skin,
who was so kind to let us participate in the networking thanks
to his coax-enabled hub), Inside (and Mnemonix for the ascii,
thnx), Analogue, TBL, entire #nlcoders and my real life friends
(yes, I am one of those with a social life :-)), Uncle Bob /
The Native(s), Stefaan Ponnet and all those other ppl that kept
bugging me/us for a new demo (ja, Kris ... gij dus ook :-))

      - Andr0meda -
*Was not around to give witty remarks.*

      - Kurt -
Thanks to all the Green-groupies for support (and emptying my
bottles of beer) like dK, Ntropy, Seven, The Hobbit; Inopia
and the rest of Quad; Deiy, Ripper, Zyser and Klix from Itsari
      (too bad we don't see you guys around anymore); Sdog/A Native;
Infinite Rebooooooot and Cyclops of Fuel; ThePeric, MProfile,
Emhyrio and all those other cool Dutch people I usually meet
at #nlcoders and at demoparties; Boeboey, Hiawatha and ThePhant
from Uranium'92. Big grin to the Greeners, and a big I'm-sorry
to all the people I forgot. You'll have to wait another 14
months to be greeted in our next text-file :)

      - Y -
Sheesh, do I, once again, have to make use of my delicately
and sparsely allocated mental resources in order to give
utterance to some literally moderately elevated crap in
these greetings? I guess the answer to that question is a
definate 'maybe'. As I have been doing the last 21 years of
my humble yet miserable life, I will comply. The way of
least resistance so far has been, definately is now, and
most probably will always be the one and only way. Hence,
yes, hence, I hereby greet All Hedgehog members, especially
Ntropy, dK and Sneaker/Conjurer/Arakasi, all U92 members,
all Green members, all demosceners, all people from the
Table of Four, the people at Top, and of course Matt
Groening. No greets at all for Pie Fighter Gates. but Kudos
to dK for giving me the hardest possible time at every
moment of the day. I respect that. Bye!

      - Corona -
Thanx to all Green members (duh) and other sceners supporting
our endless efforts to create a second demo...

      - Xorbit -
*Stayed in Limburg. Thank God :)*

      - Quasar -
Emm Tired of 48h with only 2 hours of sleep, and desperately
trying to get that demo compiled into 1 running thing, ...
greets? Greets to the rest of the Gang, greets to my dog
Midas, not to the player, and to the incredibly unknown
Syturvy, that's it for now. Eeh, writing a .nfo file is much
      harder than writing .asm!

      - Baxter -
Greets to all Green members, except to Kurt since I didn't
get any of his beer :-) Hi's to the belgian scene and ho's
to the other one(s) in my life, who will never read this.

      - Ultrabrain -
*Couldn't be dragged to a party.*

      - Nik -
      *Hmmm... Anyone seen Nik?*
      PS: "WinCE sucks ...!"

      - Zeno -
*Absent, physically and thus mentally too.*

      - Eggbird -
First of all, I 'd like to tell you that no single byte of
this demo was done by me. I joined Green about a month after
Biz98, and I 'm supposed to create music for any upcoming
Green productions. I will probably also release some single
music files with Green, so keep an eye on our dir on skynet.
      Greets:
Green, ClubLantic, the Trebel team, and all of #nlcoders

You made it this far through this NFO file?

Aren't you a sad little creature!

VGA / VESA graphics system, a whole lot of bugs :),
paranoia, and last but not least: the 'crash' effect.

in the demosystem ), additional bugfixing, unpacker,
                 additional paranoia.

Ultrabrain: Original 3D engine (by the way: it uses MMX optimized
code), and a cool memory manager that we didn't use for
                 a reason called PMODE/W.

                 transit effects (graphic LPF/HPF)
